Did you know that over 13 million people in the United States suffer from urinary incontinence?
Urinary incontinence is when someone experiences undesired urine leakage. The types of urinary incontinence are numerous. Here are some of them you could be experiencing:
Stress incontinence. Playing a sport, laughing, or sneezing can cause this type of incontinence. This happens when the pelvic-floor muscles are weakened and put under pressure. This can happen because of a lack of physical exercise.
Urge incontinence. This type of incontinence happens when someone senses a sudden urge to go to the restroom and doesn’t make it before leakage occurs.
Mixed incontinence. Many people suffer from a mix of these two types of incontinence, both stress and urge incontinence.
Functional incontinence. This happens when someone doesn’t notice an intense urge to urinate and leakage occurs on the way to the restroom.
