Back surgery is often a last resort for patients who have already tried many different treatment options for pain relief. Our physical therapists are trained to help manage your pain and rebuild strength following back surgery. Think of it this way: When you have back surgery, your surgeon is giving you new tools. A physical therapist teaches you how to use them. If you don’t work closely with a physical therapist, you won’t receive the full benefit of your surgery.

Each patient’s condition and situation is unique. As you work with one of our physical therapists, they will create an individualized recovery plan that will be the best for you. You will also be provided with specific stretches that will help you learn exercises that will have a low impact on your spine and improve your core strength, mobility and flexibility. Our goal is to help you rebuild your strength and avoid re-injury.

Louanne is a perfect example of how physical therapy can help you on your road to recovery. At age 15, she was in a car accident that crushed multiple vertebrae in her spine. Through many years and surgeries, she kept consistently working with her physical therapist. “There is no doubt in my mind that without physical therapy, the quality of my life would be very different today.” Read more of her success story, here.
